This kit is a combination of the Apex Duty/Carry Kit for the Smith and Wesson M&P Shield (9/40 only) and the Apex Action Enhancement Trigger for the M&P Shield (9/40 only). The Trigger Kit directly replaces the factory hinged trigger with a solid aluminum trigger body which reduces pre-travel and over-travel by approximately 20%. It features a smooth face with a center mounted pivoting safety that maintains factory safety values. The Apex Duty/Carry Kit was designed to provide the S&W M&P Shield pistol owner a smooth, consistent trigger pull that is approximately 2 lbs lighter (based on variations in factory tolerances) with the advantages of shorter over-travel and more detectable trigger reset. However, armorer or gunsmith installation of the Ultimate Striker Block (USB) into the Shield slide is strongly recommended**. Great upgrade, necessary for any carry weapon. Clean, crisp trigger pull which is a huge improvement over the factory trigger. Professional installation is probably necessary to be on the safe side.

Found this Apex trigger for Smith and Wesson Shield at a good price, in addition coupon worked, before delivery there was a special discount for triggers and the customer service rep applied the additional discount to my order. First experience with Optics Planet but certainly won’t be my last. Great company great service!

This kit took most of the slop and the gritty feeling out of the trigger. It now has a much crisper break to it and feels much better to shoot. I didn’t do the full 5 because I decided to use the factory spring, like most recommend, in order to keep the trigger pull lighter and it seems like most people do this anyways. Pretty easy install as well

Apex trigger is fairly easy to install with basic handgun knowledge and tools. This trigger kit gets rid of the hard factory "wall" in the trigger pull. Instantly noticed an increase in accuracy from this new trigger. Replacing the factory trigger that has two pivot points in the trigger also increased accuracy. Apex trigger is smooth and crisp. Will be purchasing again for other handguns.

Short story, I'm a 1911 guy because I LOVE crisp triggers. This Apex trigger is a great upgrade for and M&P Shield Gen 1 and well worth it.Details: I upgraded a 9mm Shield Gen 1. The install was a bit on the tricky side, but to be fair this was my first time digging into an M&P. That pin that secures the trigger bar took the longest. Just carefully review the videos from Apex multiple times.

This is a much needed upgrade for a stock gen 1 shield. This kit dropped my trigger pull weight 2 pounds from factory.Install is straight forward but a little time consuming, at least for me.The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the price but I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
