The Shield Action Enhancement Trigger Kit directly replaces the factory hinged trigger with a solid trigger body. The trigger reduces Trigger pre-travel and over-travel by approximately 20 percent. It features a smooth face with a center mounted pivoting safety. The center mounted pivoting safety bar prevents unintended operation by creating a trigger block that will not disengage unless the shooter places their finger directly on the trigger face. The smooth face trigger causes the shooter to place their finger on the center line of the trigger and encourages trigger manipulation directly in line with the bore axis. The Shield Action Enhancement Trigger is perfect for use with the M&P Shield already equipped with the Apex Shield Duty/Carry Kit. Expected Results : Reduces pre-travel Reduces over-travel Center mounted pivoting safety maintains factory safety values You may need to make an adjustment to the trigger bar loop for proper functionApplicable To What Gun(s) : Works with all Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Pistols in 9mm and .40 calibers. I have tried many after market triggers and this Apex one is a keeper ….. comfortable to use and no stinging sensation after shooting many rounds. Compared to many of the well known after market triggers, Apex in my opinion offers the best price with a quality made product.

I installed it as per APEX videos and it didn't fire. Apex's recommendation at that point is to "file" the overtravel backstop of the polymer trigger to allow more trigger travel. Their video says take 15 to 20 thousandths off the trigger. I took 15 thousandths off, then 20. It still did not fire. I put the original trigger on and it works. Put the APEX one on and it won't fire. I ended up taking 1/16th and it fired sometimes. Took it down 1/8th for it to work. Removing an eighth of an inch of material shouldn't be necessary. Now the trigger looks terrible. Apex should just make it the right way. I shouldn't have to re-engineer their product to make it work.

I have installed this trigger on an existing Glock trigger guard and also purchased the trigger bar with the trigger installed. Both perform the same.Buying just the triggers involves removing the factory trigger from the trigger bar and installing this one. It's not difficult – but you will destroy the factory trigger when removing it as you need to drive the pin holding it in place out which causes damage to the trigger itself. I used a vise and business cards (to protect the sides of the trigger) to push the pin in place. It is slightly tricky in that you need to line up the pin with the hole in the trigger bar. After that, just move the trigger back and forth on it's hinge point before installing it in the weapon to make sure it pivots smoothly. As long as the trigger bar is out of the weapon, you might as well polish the trigger bar. Just Google 25 cent trigger job to see how to do it.These triggers do not physically change the trigger pull weight, however, due to the different geometry (flatter face) and overtravel stop, the trigger pull does seem smoother and lighter. I've done this on three Glocks and each one feels better. In short, this trigger is worth it in form and function.

Above I asked a question about running just the trigger shoe in a m2.0 9mm, you also need to buy the 2 dot sear. With these two items install my Lyman trigger pull gauge is averaging around 3.5lbs pull weight. You can install their duty kit to bring the pull weight back up. This with the 2 dot sear comes out to only around $80 for a vastly improved trigger. Now, the engagement of the safety plunger is much more pronounced, so I’ll probably remove it to polish it so there’s less of a bump. Pretravel and reset are vastly improved with this setup. Install is much more involved than say working on a Glock, this little yellow slave pin and getting the trigger, trigger spring, and slide release lined up is fun. Lol

I purchased this for my M&P shield and it didn’t fit didn’t have any instructions on how to modify to make it fit but the trigger itself just seemed too long. This Action Enhancement Trigger for SD, SDVE & Sigma. Again, doesn’t fit the M&P Shield.

The trigger is too long and doesn’t fit in place correctly.
