Trigger: The goal for the Shadow Systems Elite (Aluminum , flat faced) Trigger was to incorporate the best characteristics of a premium flat-faced trigger in a no-nonsense design that is ready for daily carry and hard-use duty.  Basically, this trigger will improve the shootability of the gun under stress without sacrificing safety and common sense. Safety: The trigger safety is INTACT and this is a drop safe trigger.  The typical standard for a drop test is 1 meter (3.3 feet), muzzle down.  We have done multiple drops in our testing from as high as 22 feet. Reliability: Shadow Systems triggers don’t fall apart.  Some aftermarket triggers have a history of doing that.  Our robust design is duty ready, not something designed for a safe queen Flat Faced Configuration: Even if you have never been interested in flat-faced triggers (most of us started out that way), you owe it to yourself to try one–you’ll like it.  There is no question that for most shooters, the flat faced trigger gives a crisper, more controlled feel to the trigger.  It also makes it easier to “shoot to reset” which most people regard as the best way to break clean, accurate shots with a modern striker fired pistol. Shadow Systems Trigger Bar: Shadow Systems trigger bars are true to the original design with a few key improvements that matter.  Stamped parts are notorious for rough edge conditions where the metal shears and breaks during stamping.  We actually machine a few key areas of the bar post stamping to produce a surface smoothness and dimensional accuracy that is simply not matched elsewhere in the industry. Connector: One of the many factors that controls the weight of the trigger pull is the angle of the connector.  There are many connectors sold on the market as “minus” or “3.5 lbs.” connectors, but they RARELY produce a 3.5 lbs pull, usually closer to 4-4.5.  Meanwhile, most factory pistols break at 5-6.5 lbs. Our connectors are designed to be right in the middle with pull weights of 4-5 lbs. in most pistols with stock weight springs.  Perhaps more importantly, they are correctly tensioned to ensure proper pressure against the trigger bar to avoid slippage and “dead trigger.”  If you want a lighter pull, you can consider a reduced power striker spring in addition to your connector, but test thoroughly as you may experience light strikes with some ammunition. As an aside, we now machine (yes, machine) certain areas of the connector after stamping to maximize consistency and quality.
