It’s hard to overstate just how great this trigger is. Install is a breeze, takeup on stage 1 is smooth, hits a wall, then a slight press and stage 2 breaks like a glass rod. If you are in need of a faster rate of fire you can just press through like a single stage and it’s no big deal.I also own an SSA, and while it’s nice and the takeup is about identical, the break is not as crisp as the SSA-E. Geissele describes it as the difference between breaking a carrot and breaking a candy cane and I think that’s a 100% accurate description. The SSA-E is not, I repeat, NOT scary light. I don’t have any worries about a ND, it’s just extremely crisp. Worth every penny on anything with a scope for precision work or hunting. One somewhat-related note…don’t sleep on the sister company, ALG. Their ACT trigger is unbelievably good. Heck, it would be good at 3x the price, but if you are tight on cash look for the ACT trigger in the $60 range and you will be blown away by the improvement over milspec. Put it this way, I swapped out an ACT with the SSA and I’m thinking about going back to the ACT, it’s that good.

excellent trigger, easy install, fast shipping. only reason i gave 4 stars instead of five is its a little pricey at $240. trigger is great for fast, accurate shooting, geissele triggers are arguably the best, thats why u.s. special forces use them.

I love it! But I was hoping they’d send me a sticker. I didn’t get a sticker. Other than that I love it. It took awhile to ship, which was understandable given the events in 2020. I will definitely continue purchasing from Optics Planet.

I won’t own an AR-15 without this trigger. It’s that good. Short take up, the crispest break you’ll ever experience. I have it installed in five rifles and have never experienced a malfunction of any type. Expensive but worth it.

The SSA-E is not for anything other than HUNTING, COMPETITION or 1,000 round training a month special forces personnel. This is NOT a bump-in-the-night/WROL trigger. At 2 a.m. with only 10 seconds of consciousness from the blind sleep you were in, you will hardly make it down the first hallway without blowing a hole thru your wall. Any attempt to ‘find your trigger’ as you bear down on the situation with result in, at best, a 50% AD rate. This trigger does not take kindly to being touched under your duress. Too light. Quit your “breaks like a glass rod fantasies”. (unless you hunt or compete only with it, then this is exactly what you want). Buy the SSA versions for most applications.

So I may ruffle a few feathers here but I don’t get the hype behind this trigger. Sure its a great trigger but at the cost of $240 its far from the best choice. I have a multitude of aftermarket triggers in my guns and this one is probably my least favorite. I got it for a smoking deal of $196 but I absolutely prefer my Larue MBTS trigger over this one. Even if the Larue wasn’t half the price I would still get the Larue. If the Larue was $240 and the Geissele was $99, I’d still get the Larue. Its that much better. Maybe people want to justify their purchase maybe they want to like it because everyone says its the best so it must be the best but I’d go Larue any day of the week. I wish I could sell my Geissele and buy 2 Larues.
