I recently bought a weatherby in 6.5 creedmoor with the lxx trigger. I was pretty disappointed that the new weatherby lxx trigger has almost a two stage feel with slight creep at ~2lb before it broke at 2.5lb. I replaced it with the timney and was much happier with the crisper timney break which as received was 3lb and I was able to dial it down to my preferred 2.25.

Shoots great, but when I put it in, it would not release the bolt. On this gun you open the bolt, then pull the trigger all the way back to release the bolt. The trigger would not pull back far enough to release the bolt. Nothing in instructions, but it's a simple matter of loosening the little nut just forward of the trigger.

Last year I purchased a new Mark V Outfitter in Desert Camo with the new Weatherby two stage trigger system. To my surprise, the factory trigger was creepy and gritty and really not what you would expect from a gun selling for about $2300. I could not get the gun to group, with factory ammo, into less than 2.25 inch 3 shot group. I happen to live within 200 miles of the Weatherby office and headquarters in Paseo Robles, CA, so decided to take the rifle back to them for a repair or trigger replacement. Upon inspection they replaced the trigger with a one stage trigger that was no better than the original as far as creep. I walked out with my rifle feeling very discouraged and disappointed with the Weatherby brand. This year I ordered a Timney trigger from Optics Planet and it arrived in less than a week. Installation took me about 15 minuets and I adjusted it to 2.5 pounds of pull. I have to tell you that this trigger is incredible! No creep and a crisp clean break at 2.5 pounds every time. My groups, using the same factory ammo, are now 1 inch or less. I highly recommend this trigger to everyone who can't get that Weatherby trigger to preform the way it should.

This review is for the timney trigger model 652 for german made weatherby mark v with safety in the bolt. Installing very easy, but the safety would not engage at all, everything else worked fine. Contacted timney technical support was advised that i had to file down the sear. If i did that it would void warranty with company i bought it from, besides changing the sear i don't think very good idea. Sent back for refund.
