You can spend more money on a 10/22 trigger, but in my opinion, it would be gilding the lily. The original equipment trigger was certainly not wonderful, and I never expected it to be. But it was getting in the way of smaller group sizes. Threw in the Timney (if you can disassemble the rifle for cleaning, you can install it), and the groups with cheap ammo (but that the gun likes pretty well) — well we're talking 10 shots in a hair over 1/2" at 50 yards. And that's repeatable.

Ruger ships their Rifles with plastic trigger housings and 8.5 pound trigger pulls. I measured with a plate type scale. This is a much better option. You get a consistent crisp hunting and off hand friendly trigger pull, aluminum housing, auto bolt release, and that nice mag release lever. That's the other thing rugger has messed up on. They replaced the push in mag release button of the older guns that was automatically depressed when you pinch gripped the magazine with a stubby lever. This stupid lever won't allow a positive pull on the 10 round magazine and the plastic trigger housing won't drop them out consistently. It might work better with the BX25 but it sucks for the 10 rounder that I like to hunt with. Anyway the Timney is better on every level.

As you well know, the trigger in the Ruger 10/22 is pretty awful. The magazine release is even worse. Well, Thompson managed to replicate both in their T/CR22. The good news is that this trigger fits both rifles and remedies both issues. I spoke with Timney support prior to ordering for the Thompson and they assured me of compatibility. Zero modifications needed. Very good product.

This is my second purchase on item. Very excellent trigger for my customized Ruger 10 22. Its in metal casing, very snug fit on my receiver. What sets this trigger is the extended mag release, I find it was quick for me to release my magazines esp BX25. I get looks at gun range with this item esp the groupings and accuracy at 25-50 yards

This is the first trigger pack I've purchased for my ruger 10 22. I wondered how much it would improve my ruger 10 22 experience. I wonderful. I wondered about the true quality of this timney trigger pack. I dont have any doubts about either now. The quality is 100 percent and it has made an amazing difference in performance and my accuracy.

I bought it to improve the sensitivity of the trigger and to simplify the magazine release. It does these excellently as advertised, assuming you want to go to a trigger pull of just under 3# from over 6#. Two thing to be aware of are that if the mag release is accidentally brushed it can be activated resulting in an unintentional mag release, but this is obvious from the photos, and it is the price one pays for improvement. The other is a regret that the bolt lock/unlock wasn't really improved. The factory bolt lock is somewhat difficult to activate being so small, and it requires focus. This trigger assembly doesn't really change that, and non-Timmy after-market locks apparently won't function with this unit. This is probably better for action shooting games than for hunting due to the potential for an accidental mag release.
